Well, we have two new gardeners, both proving excellent, and we still have our wonderful volunteer, Dawn. But we do miss Jeff.
After the spring emptiness, which you’d expect of grasses, the Grasses Parterre filled out and is begining to really work.
The rest of the garden has done brilliantly in the kindest summer we’ve had for ages – no drought!
So here’s a celebration just of one flower, which is a total delight just now. Just for pleasure.
We’d never just settle for a bud though. (why not? It’s not terribly different from a berry.)
So what do I do with them at Veddw? Mass them, of course.
and then
No white ones, none of the Wild Swan series – those will do another time. Hope that’s cheered a gloomy autumn day.
PS Him outdoors has just told me to add that you can see these wonderful flowers here next Sunday (the 19th) on our last opening of the year! (open 2-5)
It’ll rain……
Beautiful pictures Charles.
I do so love the pink ones over the white which I planted a couple of years ago in the new garden. The white look so stark to me now, pondering whether to mix some pink in for relief……..
Ah, it’s always what you don’t have that suddenly appeals. And, by the way, they are all my photos. Thanks for the appreciation!
Wonderful post, wonderful photos. Both convinced me to add more anemones to my garden.
It’s what late summer is for!
