Not from Veddw this time, but from a trip to Ashwood Nurseries. We took a Trip with the Garden Media Group.
Working with hellebores..
First stop – the stock! Just a few….
and an excellent talk.

Well, not everyone was giving the talk their full attention…

Then off to the Sales
No – not quite fighting to get in….
And a bowl of sweet samples..
I do like that one… Anna’s Red. I think it’s better than my Anna’s red – how can that be? Do I need this better one?????
No – I had to have one of the ones from out here…
Ashwood are going to Chelsea this year. Which means they have to maltreat their hellebores – by sticking them in a freezer..
They don’t like it much. But the idea is that they will blossom once they are released, in the right time to look good for Chelsea…
Then we were treated to a greenhouse full of hepaticas…
O, yes!
And then – LUNCH!
The fruit jelly was beautiful – this doesn’t quite do it justice.
So what did we take away?

Gift? I gave you a gift? Tell Charles it was easy to work out the efforts of other photographers – the ones in focus đ ! Clearly, when you work as a team you make the best choices; I do like that pale colour mix. Thanks for the site plug and thus reminding me that (, expletive deleted, ) I haven’t published the February update. Must make amends somehow.
Only Charles was doing any adjusting of focus……. Thanks again, John! It truly was a treat to have some funds for the plants – they come in at mega prices! Xxxxx
